To edit the sample Google map in the Contact Us page, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: The map is created with a Google Maps Vamtam Drag and Drop element:

and the shortcode is added to the Header Featured Area in the local page's VamTam options:

Step 2:

Please copy the demo code and paste it into the "Text" tab of a post/page text editor.

Here's a demo code that you can edit for your location:

[gmap width="0" height="500" address="London" latitude="" longitude="" zoom="3" marker="true" html="" popup="true" controls="" maptype="ROADMAP" scrollwheel="false" hue=""]

Step 3:

Please switch to the Vamtam tab editor and make the changes you need by clicking on the "pencil" icon to edit the drag and drop element.  This step is not necessary if you know how to edit the code directly.

Step 4:

Please switch back to the Text editor and copy the edited code. You can use the shortcut setting: Cmd+C / Ctrl+C (for Copy) and Cmd+V / Ctrl+V (for Paste)

Step 5:

Once you have the correct code, please add it to the Header Featured Area field, and turn ON the Full Width Header Featured Area:

Step 6:

Hit the Update button.

Step 7:

Go to Dashboard > Vamtam > General settings > Paste your Google Maps API Key here

If you don't have one, please sign up for a Google Maps API key.

Step 8:

To see the changes please refresh your browser and/or clear browser cache.

Google map languages

Forcing a language is not recommended - we would rather not add an option for that as it overrides browser settings. However, there is a workaround which you can use:

- go to Vamtam/General

- open the JS console in your browser's developer tools

- run this:

- set the the now visible "Google Maps API Key" option on this page to:

"en" being your langauage abbreviation.

If you don't find the Google Maps Api Key field, please update your theme following this guide: How to update a VamTam Theme and the bundled plugins?
